Living in our larder
underneath the bottom shelf
Is a great big hairy spider
who we call Hungry Alf
No one has ever seen him
and not a sound he makes
But when nobody's looking
he eats up all the cakes
He never eats the broccoli
the carrots or the rice
But the crisps keep disappearing
so he must think they are nice

Mummy hides her chocolate
on the highest highest shelf
But even that gets nibbled
by a very Hungry Alf
Mum and Dad are puzzled
they really don't know why
Alf just eats the sweet things
the rest he passes by
But when the sweets went missing
T'was plain for all to see
There never was a spider
Hungry Alf is ..... me!
